[UIImage preferredStatusBarStyle]

Se você tem uma imagem diretamente abaixo do seu StatusBar(sem uma NavigationBar abaixo dela), você deve ter o preferredStatusBar para essa ViewControlleratualização para refletir o valor médio da cor para essa imagem.

ie. uma imagem escura deve ter texto em branco e uma imagem em preto claro.
